I believe in equal rights for our fellow LGBT citizens. I supported Proposition 5 in 2012. I am opposed to the current effort to repeal Anchorage Assembly Ordinance 96, which banned LGBT discrimination. Senator Murkowski voted to support a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage. That vote was wrong. We need a more, not less, inclusive society. The Supreme Court has now confirmed that that marriage equality is a constitutional right. I support that decision.
